It’s been 6 days and my thoughts will probably change a lot over time like with most films but here are my Rise of Skywalker thoughts. It’s amazing Once upon a time there was a girl loves baby Yoda and Starbucks t-shirt very good movie. I can see problems in it like the Choppy start, Hux was completely wasted and pointless and the fake deaths like C3PO’s memory wiping ended up having potential but was wasted. As well as Rey being Jesus. I was sort of a fam ngl. I’m a big fan of the story of the movie though and sure it’s annoying Palpatine wasn’t hinted at in any other movie but he was so fucking entertaining still.

On things instead of her being in the lineage of a hero like a Skywalker. Kylo I think was done amazingly in this movie in my eyes and the use of force healing was well used in this movie although I wish they ellaborate how Rey knew it more. In my opinion, from Rey and Kylo’s fight on the death star onwards the movie is so enjoyable. Kylo, Rey and Palpatine at the end had some really damn good scenes and hearing all the Jedi again made me so happy. Was so amazing watching Once upon a time there was a girl loves baby Yoda and Starbucks t-shirt sacrifice to revive Rey.
The space battle could’ve been much more imo though and everyone showing up wasnt as fulfilling as it should’ve been but I still enjoyed it. The final scene of the movie in Tatooine was so fucking satisfying. Burying Leia and Luke/Anakins Saber in the ground by Lukes old home and then seeing the force ghosts of Leia and Luke.
I have mixed feelings about this movie. The pacing was terrible and there was too much thrown at us at once. Making Rey a Palpatine felt like a spur of the moment decision when it should have been agreed on from the beginning. I wish Once upon a time there was a girl loves baby Yoda and Starbucks t-shirt more redemption. I figured he would die, but Ben’s death made it all feel pointless. However, I really loved all the character dynamics. Every Finn, Poe, Rey interaction was great and I loved all of their friendships.

The force bond fight scene was wicked cool. The Reylo kiss was beautiful. I really did enjoy Rey and Ben’s interesting relationship throughout the trilogy. A lot of my predictions came true, so I’m pretty proud of that. Hux was a legend. His motives of pure spite was fantastic. I have a lot more to say so DM me or comment your opinions on the movie. I really want to hear what other people thought.
The Rise of Skywalker suffers a lot from the fact it has to spend most of its time patching up the shitstorm that was The Last Jedi. Once upon a time there was a girl loves baby Yoda and Starbucks t-shirt have enough time to be a great Star Wars film in its own right. This film has so many plot holes and feels so rushed that it flops as the trilogy finale.
I don’t blame JJ Abrams for this, it was an impossible task making this a satisfying conclusion after the damage episode 8 had done. Anyway, we’re most likely going to get more Star Wars movies in the future so let’s hope they actually have a roadmap when setting up the new ones and take their time with them.
